  • Competition is open to any student currently enrolled full-time in one of Mississippi’s public community / junior colleges.
  • All work must have been completed while the student is enrolled at the college. These works must not have been previously exhibited in the Mississippi Community / Junior College Competitive Art Exhibition.
  • All work must be original. No master copies will be accepted and no work done from kits or molds.
  • Size Limitations: Two-dimensional art must not exceed 48” in dimension.

Three-dimensional art cannot exceed 50 pounds in weight or 60 inches in any dimension.

  • MGCCC will not hang any artwork that is not properly matted, mounted, or framed. Entry labels must be firmly attached, and artwork must be ready to hang using wire, twine, or cord. No sawtooth hangers. See the presentation requirements document for more information.
  • MGCCC reserves the right to not exhibit any work deemed unsuitable for public viewing.
  • All work must hang for the duration of the exhibition.
  • Any student winning a monetary award must provide documentation of full-time status at their respective college or forfeit the honor.

Entry Procedure and Preliminary Judging

Attach entry labels securely to the lower right-hand corner of two-dimensional work and securely attach label to three-dimensional work. Submit labeled works to your Art Faculty Representative for preliminary judging. Work selected from your campus should be delivered to the MGCCC-JC campus within the designated time-frame of Monday, February 22 through Friday, February 26 from 9AM -3PM

Any work shipped to MGCCC-JC must be received by Friday, February 26.

Liability

The staff of MGCCC will handle all work with care. However, we will not be responsible for accidental breakage, theft, or vandalism which might occur, or for pieces left unclaimed.
