Pageant and Scholarship Contests Providing Tuition Assistance
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College offers full-tuition scholarships to full-time, first-time to enter college freshmen who are preliminary winners of the following contests:
Distinguished Young Women of Mississippi
This contest makes more than $1 billion in scholarships available every year. The Mississippi program competes in July and is open to young women entering their senior year of high school.
Miss Mississippi Pageant
Miss Mississippi is a scholarship pageant and a preliminary of Miss America. The contest began in 1934 and has been held in Vicksburg for fifty years. You must be between the ages of 17-24 and be a regional titleholder in order to compete in Miss Mississippi.
Mississippi Miss Hospitality Competition
Mississippi Miss Hospitality is a Hattiesburg-based competition open to women ages 18-24 and provides over $100,000 in annual scholarships. Some areas require that you win a local competition before competing in the state-wide contest.
