b'Computer Networking Technology Gaming Surveillance Concentration (Harrison County Campus) This instructional program will provide students with the required skills and expertise to be employable in the field of computer networking as computer networking technicians and/or network administrators. The required skill and expertise will be provided through course work in the design, telecommunications, installation, maintenance, network administration of client/server systems, and operation of computer networks. The gaming management courses will focus on the unique characteristics of both the gaming and hospitality industries. These courses will allow students to learn entry-level skills relating to gaming operations and provide them with the knowledge and attitudes needed to be an effective professional in the gaming industry. The gaming courses link to other programs that will lead to an Associate of Applied Science degree with a gaming concentration:Administrative Office Technology, Accounting Technology, Business Management Technology, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business and Marketing Management, and Computer Networking Technology.This degree is designed to help students seek employment in entry level or supervisory gaming positions. For those currently employed, these programs will provide professional growth and career mobility within the gaming industry. Where a transfer to 4-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor. All students completing a career or technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or an MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment assessment where applicable.
