b'Phlebotomy NON-CREDIT PROGRAM This non-credit healthcare program prepares applicants to sit for certification through the National Center for Competency Testing for Phlebotomy (NCPT) which is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate is eligible for employment opportunities with various healthcare agencies.The phlebotomist\'s primary function is to assist the healthcare team in accurate, safe, reliable collection and transportation of specimens for clinical laboratory testing. Course Description: This intensive 100-hour course of study is designed to prepare students for immediate employment as phlebotomists in the hospital or clinical setting. Students will complete a minimum of 40 hours of didactic online, 60 hours of campus lab and clinical training, and 60 successful unaided blood collections including venipuncture and skin punctures. Course schedules are located on the website under Schools/ School of Nursing and Health Professions/Non-Credit courses webpage. 2.Submit a copy of your high school or high school equivalence (HSE) diploma. 3.Copy of one of the following documents (a, b, or c) or complete the ACT WorkKeys Exam (details are provided by the CE Coordinator after registration form has been received and processed).a.Copy of ACT Score that is an 18 or higher b.Copy of College Degree c.Unofficial transcript showing college courses taken AND PASSED (within the past 10 years).After registration has been received: 1.Please allow 1-2 weeks after submission for the registration process to be completed.An email will be sent confirming registration, course details, and instructions on how to pay the $675 course fee at any MGCCC campus business office.Course fees are due in full 3 days prior to the scheduled course date. 2.Begin completing all health requirements and background check.*Criminal Background Check is due BEFORE the first day of class. All students accepted into a MGCCC Phlebotomy course must obtain a criminal background check from a MGCCC Campus Police Office. The $65 criminal background check payment is not included in the Phlebotomy program cost. The payment is made at the campus business office with the receipt presented at the Campus Police Office in order for testing to take place.
