b'Cosmetology Nail Technology Option (West Harrison County Center) The Nail Technology Program is a 10-week program of study designed to lead to a certificate. The instructional program provides training in the theory, skills, and salon ethics that are required to become a licensed nail technologist. Students practice techniques in a supervised salon setting. The Curriculum is designed to comply with the standards of the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology, with the requirement of 350 contact hours of instruction for students. Upon satisfactory completion of the program of study, a student will be eligible to request an examination by the Mississippi State Board of Cosmetology to become a licensed Nail Technologist in the state of Mississippi. Selection for admission into the cosmetology program is based on the date of the nail tech application and slot availability. Applicants must provide an official high school or high school equivalency transcript and complete the Gulf Coast Work Ready course.
