b'Excelerated Career Programs Excelerated Career Programs are designed for individuals to gain education and training that prepares them for outstanding careers. The objective is to make reaching those goals as simple as possible. These career programs are in an accelerated format that will allow students to earn a diploma in one year for one all-inclusive cost. Students who successfully complete the program will receive both a certificate and diploma that will give them the credentials they need to begin a career, and students can quickly earn their associate degree in addition to the core program, allowing transfer to a four-year institution. Auto Collision Repair Technology (Harrison County Campus) Auto Collision Repair Technology is an instructional program designed to prepare students for entry level into the collision repair, frame, and refinishing trade. Students will be taught theory and practical repair and refinish work, beginning with basic applications and progressing on to heavy-collision repairs requiring major body and frame alignment and panel replacement. The instruction includes all phases necessary to teach collision repair, including glass replacement, welding, replacement of hardware and trim items, cosmetic repairs, and structural repairs. This program leads to an Associate of Applied Science Degree and is preparatory for employment upon graduation from MGCCC. Where a transfer to 4-year college or university is desired, a conference should be scheduled with a MGCCC advisor. All students completing a career or technical program must complete either the MS-CPAS (Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System) or an MGCCC Board- approved Technical Skills Attainment assessment where applicable. Students should see an advisor for further details.
